The Venetian and Salona - beautiful accommodation in the old town of Trogir, Croatia.
Adriatic Cottages has renovated an apartment and a house in the UNESCO listed town of Trogir (a small island north of Split which is linked to the mainland by a bridge). Both of the properties are within the walls of the old town and we are sourcing additional holiday properties on the Adriatic Coast in Croatia, Montenegro and Bulgaria.

Travellers love The Venetian, Trogir and the Adriatic
Hi Justine, Arrived at the Venetian today and everything is fantastic thank you. We found the apartment easily from the bus stop and Ivana is very friendly and helpfull. The apartment is easily the nicest place we've stayed in thus far, so much in fact that we were thinking we might delay our trip to Dubrovnik and extend our stay for a night if it's available? Thank you again for your hospitality - Josh, Bendigo, Australia (September 2013)
Hi Justine, We arrived home today. We had a wonderful time in Croatia – spectacular scenery, friendly people – enjoyed Dubrovnik, Split and Trogir. The Venetian was very comfortable – we did not use the kitchen facilities, but everything was there had we needed it. However, we did use the washing machine for a few things! Ivana was so helpful and friendly and we enjoyed a meal at Capo one evening. Trogir is lovely – we were so happy we decided to stay there instead of Split. We watched all the comings and goings at the harbour yesterday morning before heading to the airport. With our best regards and thanks again, if we go back to that area, we will be sure to contact you. - Linda and Dan, USA (September 2013)
As you can see we are enjoying the hospitality of the Venetian already. Ivana greeted us and was very helpful and welcoming. We have already been to the market for cheese for the red wine, life is good. So is the weather. Cheers - Malcolm and Jo, Melbourne, Australia (April 2013)
Hi Justine, We are having a lovely time here at The Venetian & Trogir. Thank you for all the sightseeing advice - well used. Will pass on our recommendations for your accommodation to our family & friends when they visit the Dalmatian coast. Regards, Jenny & Bruce, Kilcunda, Australia (April 2013)
Dear Justine, We really loved our time in Trogir. We spent a day enjoying Trogir (must have visited every tiny street possible), a day investigating Split and another day with a boat trip to the islands. Thank you for all the information you sent to us prior to leaving Australia. It meant we had no trouble finding the Venetian …. Ivana was most helpful and very courteous. The accommodation was just wonderful and one of the best we experienced while we were away. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much and we will recommend it to our friends and family if they intend travelling to Croatia in future - Jenelle and Ewen, Melbourne, Australia (October 2012)
All settled in Justine....The place is beautiful and I can tell the Aussie touch...Very stylish! Thanks for everything - Daniel, Melbourne, Australia (October 2012)
Hi Justine. Found our way to your fantastic place. We love it. Thank you for sharing it - Pam and John, Melbourne, Australia (September 2012)
Hi Justine, we are enjoying Trogir very much. Fast boat yesterday, lovely driver Mario. Trying to make our way round to all your recommended restaurants, so far so good. Lasko is our preferred pivo. Love the cheese. Ice cream for dessert...yum! Ivana has been delightful. Such a lovely place. Kind regards - John, Kyneton, Australia (September 2012)
We had a great time in Croatia and particularly enjoyed the refuge the Venetian offered after a hard day relaxing and swimming, and people watching on the promenade, or after the big day's sightseeing in Diocletian’s Palace or to one of the many beautiful islands - Zanette, Sydney
I wanted to say thank you for the opportunity to stay in Trogir at the Venetian. We loved it … we relaxed just as we'd hoped, and thoroughly enjoyed all our walking on Ciovo etc. We enjoyed sitting at open air bars on the harbour front, in the warm late afternoon sunshine – Wendy and Rob, Melbourne
Trogir and the Venetian were fantastic, such a lovely apartment, it was hard to leave. Thank you - Christine, Melbourne
Hi Justine, we want to let you know that your accommodation at Trogir was fantastic, to be in the middle of this special historical place has blown us away. Your agent was so helpful, and that helped us to enjoy our stay. We had a sea kayak tour and a trip by ferry to a beach. Our experience in Croatia was most enjoyable. We have no problem in recommending Croatia to our friends and would certainly include adriaticcottages in that recommendation - Karen & Lyal, Rockhampton
Home after our wonderful trip .... We cruised and visited the islands for 7 days, wonderful, then on to Montenegro. We were charmed by our hosts & really enjoyed our walks, to the beach & to the village to eat and enjoy. Wanted to thank you very much for your advice on eating we went to the restaurants you recommended and ate well - Bev, Melbourne
Our manager in Trogir is Ivana Krstulović and all guests are impressed with her attention to detail and exceptional personal service. Ivana speaks Croatian, English and German, and a little Italian and Spanish.

The Venetian at Ribarksa 6
The Venetian is a large studio apartment with a separate kitchen and laundry. The apartment was rebuilt and renovated to a very high standard in late 2009. The apartment is light and features 4 large windows offering fabulous views. The room has a separate bar fridge and coffee and tea making facilities. The apartment has an extra large shower and a flat screen television. Restored stone is a highlight of The Venetian.
The interior stone walls of The Venetian were restored by Ivica Jarebic during 2009. Ivica was born in Trogir and lives in Trogir with his family. Ivica's grandfather taught him the art of stone restoration. The stone delivers a peaceful cool interior during the warm months and a warm cosy atmosphere in winter when Trogir is still a great destination and offers a slower lifestyle. The Venetian features a split system air conditioner/heater. The modern tiled bathroom of The Venetian features a large shower (room for two).
Enjoying Croatian food is all part of the wonderful experience of staying in The Venetian. Visit the fish market, and the fruit and vegetable market, and prepare yourself a delicious dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. Alternatively, wander down the stone steps and into the cobblestone alleys which lead to many restaurants. If you stay for one week, you will enjoy a different restaurant every night just steps away from The Venetian. There are more than 12 fine restaurants in the vicinity of The Venetian all offering delicious traditional dishes.
Salona at Šubićeva 12
Salona is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the old town of Trogir. The 3 storey home was fully rebuilt and restored in 2012 to a very high standard in accordance with building standards set by UNESCO which ensure the façades of buildings in Trogir remain unchanged and reflect original construction methods.
The interior and interior design of Salona is simple and luxurious and captures the spirit of Dalmatia with clever use of stone and timber. A custom built spiral staircase connects the kitchen on the ground floor, the large bathroom and the sitting area on the first floor and the sun lit, airy bedroom on the top floor.
See the property page on this website for photos of the renovation project.
